We can understand Hatha-Vinyasa as a series of postures (asanas) combined with the breath to form a sequence, ranging in length and intensity depending on the practitioner.
The practice reawakens an awareness and control of the body, yet also has a profound effect spiritually, helping free us of fear, and slowly building confidence and serenity.
Senior Ashtanga teacher and author Gregor Maehle defines vinyasa as:
“Sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow, creating a movement meditation that reveals all form as impermanent and for this reason not to be held on to.”
