Yoga found me when I needed it most ...

Coming home

Over the last 20 years, the practices of conscious movement and stillness, little moments dedicated to feeling my breath (and more recently taking a pause to simply rest without “doing” anything at all) have been transformational.

At the beginning, I would say that in some way I was practicing to change something about myself: my inner critic, tone up my body, feel more calm... and a very long etc. All of these are quite valid reasons, since they bring us to the mat (which is in itself very often already a challenge). However, I have learnt and seen how my practice is actually all about coming home. To feel authentically myself.

Just as I am.

A little of my story...

Since 2013 I have been teaching Yin and Yang style classes and Mindfulness courses (MBSR) full time to health-care workers within hospitals and primary health care centres, in-company classes on-site during the working day, and to smaller groups for Yoga as therapy, as well as running workshops and retreats throughout the year, both at home in Spain and abroad.

A passion for knowledge and self-awareness, and a deep trust in the body’s ability to find balance and heal, infuse my intention to continue sharing yoga with others with an integral therapeutic approach. Self-care is priority as well as the chance to experience a deep sense of calm and ease.

London-born, I have lived in Spain since 1995, working previously in the field of international sports communication and translation. Yoga appeared whilst travelling frequently with round-the-world yacht races. Originally the practice was a physical channel to manage the demands of the profession, jet lag, physical fatigue and stress.
I was initially attracted to the more ‘yang-style’ practices based on Ashtanga and Vinyasa. Yet as I move into midlife, as my body changes, as I learn to listen more deeply to what I most need, I lean towards incorporating longer holds and exploring them within slower, more fluid movements, whilst yearning for the the quiet stillness of Yin Yoga, and the grounding practices of Mindfulness and Meditation.
