Every woman is unique. Our bodies, minds, cycles, energy. We are all born with a certain number of eggs which in puberty we begin to release in the miraculous cycle of fertility and creativity.
As we get towards midlife this number begins to decrease, sparking a complex readjustment of our hormones. These fluctuations create an imbalance within a formerly perfect state of balance and can lead to a wide number of symptoms, ranging from the more commonly recognised hot flushes, night sweats, anxiety, muscle, and joint pain, to less associated effects such as fatigue, mood swings, interrupted sleep patterns, the lack of ability to concentrate or ‘brain fog’ amongst many others.
Yoga for Menopause offers a safe, calm, and supportive environment and a toolbox which combines Hatha, Yin and Restorative Yoga: sequences that are designed to help manage and alleviate the symptoms of Menopause. Pranayama (breath work), journaling and sharing our experiences with other women at a similar stage to us is also tremendously soothing at a deep psychological level so we can begin to rewrite the story of Menopause.
