Yin Yoga and MindfulnessFrom 12/11/2016 to 12/11/2016 -Location: Yogaia, Passeig de Sant Joan, 122
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Victor Frankl
Mindfulness is an ancient practice, which can actually be understood as a way of life; the choice to purposely pay attention to the present moment, without judgement and without needing to manipulate, change or control our personal experience at any given moment. We directly connect to the experience at hand (whether it be pleasant, difficult or inexpressible), and to any sensations in the body, thoughts or feelings that might have arisen.
By deliberately placing our awareness on what is happening at each moment, we gradually develop inner balance; encouraging self-observation, with curiosity and equanimity. Increasing self-awareness is a path towards knowing ourselves better, learning to recognise the connection between thoughts and emotions, particularly at the more challenging times in our lives, so that we are able to live with greater balance, serenity and efficiency.
In this Yin Yoga and Mindfulness workshop we will explore Mindfulness, with a short introduction, followed by direct experience in the practices of Meditation and Yin Yoga.
The quiet practice of Yin Yoga, where postures are held for longer periods of time, offers a valuable space of stillness, perfect for the observation of both body and mind, and the opportunity to initiate a path of mindfulness, living one moment at a time with deeper awareness.
