This special Yin Yoga class in YOGAIA, Barcelona invites you to take some time out for yourself, for self-observation, mindful breathing and to have the chance to explore the present moment, one breath at a time. The class will begin with a guided meditation, preparing the body and mind for the yin yoga practice, where we connect to a state of non-doing; moments of stillness to completely let go, and allow ourselves to simply be where we are.
It is a great opportunity to embrace our resources of inner calm; the state which arises when we non-judgementally accept each moment as it is.
Yin Yoga is a simple, still, non-muscular practice, where postures are held longer (three minutes and above) to more deeply stretch and stimulate the body’s connective tissues, calming the breath and mind, and creating valuable personal space to explore a little further, go a little deeper, and improve our ability to more fully inhabit the present moment.
By stimulating the body’s ‘Qi’ (energetic flow) through the fascia and connective tissues, yin yoga enables us to unblock any tension at a physical, mental and emotional level. The stillness and silence of the practice offer a calming, extremely valuable space, to balance the frenetic rhythm of modern life, as well as providing a perfect complement to other more active “yang”-type practices of yoga or sport.
